There is no need for Area Store Directors, the managers of the stores can handle anything thrown at them, and they are being so micro-managed from the So called RVP'S, and Supervisors, what the he-l is the need for these Area Store Directors? All they do is sit in on meetings and try to piggy back off of what ever the manager has to say.. Then they go in their office and act like they are doing something... What a waste of a wage, take that wage and his 3 full-timers that'll actually benefit the store....

And your wish has been granted!
Here's what I don't understand. What is the purpose of a district store director when you already have store managers. It just seems like a waste of a position and a waste of a wage that stores could use to have more hours or another position opened up. Also I have yet to see what the director really does to help the store or stores other than hide upstairs and pretend to do something. If Hy-Vee is in such bad shape then just get rid of the position.
Same way at the Hy-Vee warehouses I've worked at as well. I believe it to be too many chiefs and not enough Indians.
The department managers at the warehouses are only a mouthpiece for the " warehouse manager" and "director" and are salaried at 80k+. These guys dont do jack sh-t during the shift except "answer emails". The "assistant" managers do all the work during the shift.
We're talking an easy half a million between all them managers that just isn't needed.. but we're so slow we'll just start cutting hours for the workers who need those hours to feed their families.. Complete horse sh-t.
They don't want long term employees. They don't care about having experienced employees.Thats why they fired or layed off so many. They want cheaper labor to keep their labor costs low.DO NOT MAKE A CAREER WITH THIS COMPANY.
Well said. Supervisors as well. Let store manager run the store. One supervisor says to do this and the director says do different, then The RVP comes in and says do another way. Changing 3-4 times with such labor cuts is a total waste. Free those salaries up and maybe some stores can keep some hours for employees. Employees who want to work and care. All the new hires come in for job and see they are getting 12 hours a week and then leave. No longevity anymore!
