Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Debt load

Anyone know HyVee's debt load? That's how you'll be able to tell if they are moving South. Gotta think it's pretty high, considering they have to pay their share holders a 15% annual return.

Comparing to Walmart is not silly. We have 9 different HyVees in a 15 mile radius and they all have different pricing on the same exact item. D-MB. Customers know this and shop competition due to consistency of their pricing.

Jw ,you must not be involved with ALL the compliance displays, the ones where stores have to put up weekly for payment/benefit to someone. Each store has unique customer base and most store managers try to get the best sales within their demographic. Comparing to Walmart is silly, most know groceries as a whole have low grosses and all the other products help even this out. It's a sad comparison . Customer service, ordering/receiving product, filling shelves and happy employees should be the top priorities- at store level. The "other" portions owned by Hy-Vees maybe bringing profits ??

I've said this before. HyVee is a big shell game. They promise their shareholders, all former directors or other big wigs, a 15% percent return on their stocks every year. So they ra-e and pillage the stores to get that money, come he-l or high water. Stores are making very little money. If a respectable financial company came in and looked at their books, they works be shocked. They have a horrible business model. Why is Walmart so successful or a Kroeger? They have the same pricing at every store. Have the same end caps. Have the same model for all stores. Not HyVee. I believe, as many do, that the mismanagement will eventually lead to bankruptcy.

Sounds like it’s greed then. They kept cut labor at the store but demand better customer service

Amazing how a failing company can still return that kind of figure, isn't it? Unless, of course, it's not a failing company.

I’m guess with HyVee selling their properties to get large amount of cash flow. Their debt is high right now. What is HyVee going to do once it has sold off all of their properties and now cant use those sales as cash infusion into a failing company. HyVee will be sold or bankrupt in 10 years due to poor leadership.
