Kaiser nurses picket in Vallejo over layoffs, staffing, and AI

Nurses rallied outside Kaiser’s Vallejo facility, citing layoffs, staffing shortages, and concerns about AI tools such as virtual sitter programs. A recent announcement to lay off 42 nurses in San Rafael heightened fears of broader cuts.

Kaiser states it meets staffing regulations and that AI does not replace clinical judgment. Nurses argue patient safety demands more in person staffing and warn of long wait times in local facilities.

There was a smart dude with tons of patent under his belt but was let go and now he is equal to Trim at a healthcare company. While we have a dum--ss AN who doesn’t know sh-t and torch is given by Trim to AN to burn down the house…LOL

It is getting harder to keep up as more people leave and the remaining team ends up doing twice the work. With RTO, things are only going to get much, much worse. Leadership really needs to address staffing before more talented people give up and walk out.

Per meeting with director today 75 pos are looking to be added to FTC ABS/Amisys teams for the 3rd and 4th qtr...seems like a lot. These pos will be internal and external applicants.

Worked for Crossmark then we were acquired by Acosta and as soon as Ferreros fiscal year was up we all had a mandatory conference call on August 1st and we were all laid off. Acosta did state we were able to apply for other positions in the company but just like nothing we all were dropped. The kicker was that I was actually on a short term medical leave and due to the fact I was only on week 2 I did not receive said benefits and then was let go.

Boston-based Marathon Staffing Solutions Inc. has announced it will permanently lay off 71 employees in Northern California on November 7, 2025, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing.
