Where is the communication !!!

It is absolutely appalling that while the web is flooded with "unofficial" reports all about Oracle layoffs.  Not a word has been communicated from our leadership about what is going on and what they have planned around laying off employees. No... — read more

It will get you exactly nowhere

Even if I survive these layoffs, I will do my best to leave Oracle as soon as possible. Because it will be terrible for the survivors. I already know what awaits them - more work than ever, more stress than ever. This has become a place where... — read more

Severance

Any changes to the standard severance terms for the departing folks. Sorry to hear about the cuts, given all the rumors about big CX hits that we had over last two months I guess nobody is surprised any more. Let's see how this one ends up, it feels... — read more

We have a long week ahead of us

Layoffs usually don't happen on Mondays, so the fact that we've already started means they need more time than usual to get it done. The number might end up being higher than we originally expected. I think we'll be seeing layoffs throughout the... — read more

Confirmed layoffs in Burlington

Can confirm that Oracle had layoffs in the Burlington hub (CX organization) for the sales team and sales leadership. Don’t know the total scope, but I’ve been here about 7 years.

I want it to be over

I know I'm not the only one who spent the weekend stressing. It's only going to get worse from here. I'm at the point where I'm hoping we learn about layoffs on Monday if possible and be done with the whole thing by the end of the week. If I'm laid... — read more

Contract specialist

Anyone newly hired as a contract specialist. I see many job postings for this role. Is it on the chopping block?

They don’t know if we are coming or going.

One observation made by a mid level manager about upper management … “They are more concerned with why they can’t attract new employees to Oracle than they are about all the experienced talent walking out the door! This makes no sense!” With that... — read more

Why are we still hiring?

Hiring is taking place daily. I know this to be true for OCI and I'm sure it's the same elsewhere as well. Why is this the case? Why are we hiring more people when we supposedly need to cut up to $1 billion in cost? Shouldn't there be a hiring freeze... — read more

Oracle never offered job security

Oracle has always been very open, if not in words then in practice, about how iffy your job security is. You need to learn and earn to the max while the opportunity is there and always have a Plan B for when the music stops. Very few people I worked... — read more

ACX bloodbath

If you are in ACX no matter what department you’re in get out now! If they continue to keep the existing management team then the business will continue to decline thus resulting in more cuts.

The middle should be the safest

If the aim is to get rid of the highest earners who are 50+ and have to balance that with younger employees who have recently started to avoid accusations of age discrimination, I'd say those of us in the middle are the safest group at this point (as... — read more
