Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

The problem is always who is being laid off

I am totally disappointed in the management. They will never admit that their bad decisions are one of the biggest reasons that this company has lost most of its talented people.
As long as those who are the most competent are RIFed, and not those who are the real reason for the cuts, Oracle will continue to go down a path of ruin.

“Obviously he didn't have what it takes to succeed at Oracle.“

One gentleman was thought to be so good that they offered the role as lead technical resource on a very high profile account, read BIG BUCKS, but circumstances in his personal life did not allow him to make a 24*7 commitment.
They shot him.

Obviously he didn't have what it takes to succeed at Oracle.

Saw this today. I think I fits …

“If serving is below you, leadership is beyond you.”

I used to argue that it was not right to lump in all management together. After all, there are some who care, some who try, some who are competent, but when it comes to layoffs, it just doesn’t matter. They can’t help you. They will not help you. You will be tossed overboard like so much trash! Better you than them!

The folks here are right. It's always the ICs who are cut in favor of the management, regardless of whether the management is competent. Sad.

Truth.

Out group was forced to layoff people that were repeatedly tagged as Top Talent in the talent review process.

What’s the point?

Might want to check what O is leaving to die. Below was found, google search: Oracle applications ending.

Oracle has the largest amount of tech going end-of-life in 2022… now what? Oracle Applications (including PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Siebel, and the dozens of other technologies acquired over the years) are being decommissioned.Jan 5,
