Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Who’s the best?

There is always so much negativity (as to be expected on a layoff board) but for a second, can we nominate the best manager that you have worked with, and why.

Let’s hope that it is not the kiss of death for a manager to be liked at Oracle.

Basically all the mgrs now just take orders from top and pass it to ICs. They can't question why these steps or direction. It's all micromanaged at the very top. Those who l..k the shoes and treat the ICs like a cr-p will go up the ladder.

Possibly AI will replace middle mgmt. When they are investigated they'll have to wake up. Would save a lot of money during this global economic challenge. The company's that reorg leaner & smarter will survive. Oracle has a lot of waste and has a long way to go. Laying off producers is not smart. There is a reason why cutting middle management is textbook. Maybe with SC's interest in AI, LE will allow O to move into this century.

I’m old enuf that most of my great mgrs hav passed on to the great open concept office in the sky.

My current mgr looks like a high schooler, and sounds like a cliche machine.

The one before that was so laid back and I heard from them so infrequently that I often wondered if they were still with the company.

Th one before that was a storyteller and ok basically a liar.

Before that, was ok but the company restrained them from doing anything useful.

Gotta go back over a decade before I can recall one that actually say helped me develop, provided excellent ideas for doing that AND fought for my raises.

Sadz.

If I wanted to see a manager get praised, I’d just go to the all hands calls
