Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Snowflake is Hiring

I know this is a layoff board, but Snowflake continues to do well—reporting 67% revenue growth year-over-year. Clear evidence that they are continuing to eat Oracle for lunch, and they plan to hire product engineers and sales in the next year.

There is life after Oracle. Dust off that resume, update those skills, and escape a doomed enterprise.

@1fvg+1jZuIHXS Not surprised. I interviewed for Snowflake in marketing, and they said no. That said, I made my way to another analytics company in marketing, so I am OK. Even got a raise in the process.

FYI - I have it from several very reliable sources that Snowflake does not, in general, want to hire people from Oracle. But this is not unusual, because the same anti-Oracle sentiment exists at IBM, Microsoft, MongoDB, and many others.

I have known a colleague from Oracle who was out of work 3+ years after Oracle RIF'd him, and he got no interest whatsoever from Snowflake, IBM, Mongo, MS, and a lot of others in the cloud and database space. He finally was offered a job role at a miniscule company with job responsibilities and compensation far below what he had at Oracle. His Oracle stint definitely tainted him in the job search market.

Applied twice in the last year for roles that I matched line for line. Never even got an automated rejection email. Good luck!
