Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Innovation here compared to other leading technology companies

Unfortunately, Oracle is very much stuck in the past and I completely agree with everyone who thinks that the company has been unsuccessfully trying to find its next innovation since 1995.

Some find arguments in the size of the company, considering that the bigger the company, the harder it becomes to keep up with the pace of innovation. But let's compare the innovations here with other leading technology companies.

Most m6’s have been promoted to their level of incompetence so innovation scares them as it would require giving credit to someone else

“What about autonomous DB?”
What about it?

The OP was asking about innovation.

ADB is self tuning, self-repairing, self-securing, is based on exadata so high-performing, and 100% automated thanks to ML and AI. No other service out there comes close - it's ultra innovative.

That's "what about it"

There is no innovation. Oracle feeds largely on the acquisition of other small companies. In other areas marketing seeks only to copy other vendors and does not think about developing something better. All parts of Oracle strive for the least, rather than the best. No innovation is ever wanted, so none occurs.

Oracle is a Potemkin Village. Nothing but smoke and mirrors covered by LJE's yachts, glitzy Cloud World conferences, and implementation issues. The company was late to cloud on LJE's doubt and will pay for years to come.
