Major restructuring coming to Support Org

A major restructuring coming to support Org . Many teams under MS will be restructured and combined . Retrain and use same resources (cheap) for new products is the strategy instead of hiring new (expensive) .

Overworked, overwhelmed

Does the management really think that things can continue to work this way, after cutting our colleagues those of us who survived are supposed to be doing double workloads?

Utterly disappointing

I was disappointed and surprised when I heard that they cut a person that Oracle should have kept at all costs because he was an exceptional talent. Supposedly, the manager assured him beforehand that he was safe. I'm interested in whether anyone... — read more

Raises

When should employees expect to hear about their raises from this focal?

The worst possible strategy

I'm somewhat happy to be laid off. The company certainly lost its direction a long time ago. As far as I can see, Oracle thinks that too many managers and a lowest talent cost is a sustainable strategy in the long run. Isn't that the worst possible... — read more

Layoff impacts

I hope that the leadership has carefully considered the impact that reducing employee headcount will have on products and services to customers. Chances are that the impact will be terrible?

This makes no sense

I'm still amazed at who the leadership decided to lay off. Even McDonald's doesn't lay off people who do good work and this place has no issues with getting rid of some of our best. How is that good business strategy? How is that going to help Oracle... — read more

These people are completely devoid of reality

The CEO of HyperSocial posted a crying selfie, bemoaning how hard it was for him to lay off the employees he loves. Are you kidding me??? Can he be any more tone deaf? "Hey, I laid off people in the name of profit and now people think I'm the bad... — read more

The Great Resignation

Using yesterday’s answers to today’s questions has always been a formula for disaster! While Oracle has been laying people off, literally for generations, and has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge around the process, they have not done so... — read more

We will be losing customers over this

Employee Digital Experience being rolled out

So the ‘Employee Digital Experience’ software is being rolled out. They will literally be tracking every keystroke, website, app you use and how busy your laptop is. No doubt this will be used for in-depth stats on productivity. Those 15/30 min... — read more

Whatever happened to the layoffs report person?

There was somebody posting unofficial layoff reports on the board for years, I remember. I think there was a weekly post totaling all the layoffs for the year, month, and the past week. It was very informative. Did the person get laid off themself?... — read more

How do you cope with survivor's guilt?

Many in my team were axed last week, including my manager. I was spared, maybe because I'm in EMEA, maybe because I don't cost much. I'm left here, horrified by what happened, and especially by how it happened, confused at not having any direction... — read more

No more doubts

I thought I'd stay here for a while longer, but these layoffs opened my eyes. I'm probably not the only one who now has all doubts cleared whether to stay a little longer or run from here? Maybe there is something good in all this awfulness, and that... — read more

Golden advice

It is less stressful to find a job while you still have a job, so do it now before it is too late unless you are ready for retirement, then wait for the layoff package. Couldn't have given better advice. I lived through that experience, and... — read more

Do you think Oracle will recover after these cuts?

Downsizing very negatively impacts company culture and engagement levels. It will be very difficult to rebuild remaining employees' trust after these cuts. I don't think Oracle will recover quickly after all this.

Any RIFs in Product Management?

Explanation and Advice

Having been laid off from Oracle decades ago, and returned to survive many many lay-offs, here is my $.02 when laid off from Oracle. If you really want to come back, just wait a bit. In 2 years you can come back with re-negotiated salary etc. Its not... — read more

I'm not waiting for the next round

I hate waiting and I hate not knowing what's coming even more. I already have a few interviews set up. Despite all the cuts, the job market is still tight and there are still lots of opportunities for software engineers. I haven't been here long... — read more

Blood Money for those who remain

Hearing rounds of promotions and incentives are starting to make their way around in marketing. People who long earned those dollars were axed, so many undeserving can reap the benefits. Some deserve it, some deserve to join the cuts. Good riddance. — read more

This used to be my dream job

The only thing keeping me here is the fact that I can't get a new offer. Unfortunately. I think I would accept even a lower paid job if only it had a little more stability. There is no stability here anymore, nor do I think anyone feels safe. What... — read more

Emea

Staggering how CW can announce Oracle’s “change of direction” and no update since, nothing!! How do they think this is acceptable for the EMEA workforce? Exceptions being GC in the uk telling his favourites that they are safe

No more cuts?

I've been trying to find out if there were more layoffs yesterday but from what I can see, the answer is finally no. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but other than the management cleanup, it looks like we might actually be done for now? Or is it... — read more

Who intends to leave soon even if they survive?

I have given myself a deadline so that even if I survive, I will leave this place during the next few months. It's a stressful period for everyone who is laid off, but I don't think that survivors will be much better off either. It wouldn't surprise... — read more

The latest RIFs vs. RIFs in the past
