Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Hiring freeze

And my contractor role is not converted to Permanent.
One new teammate is joining as Contractor too.

Is this usual practice for Oracle?

Oracle does not give pay increases so stay a contractor.

I was a contractor for over 5 years before I went permanent. Make sure you’re getting paid a good/fair salary now because once they bring you in, they’ll use that salary as a baseline and only allow small % increases. In turn your salary will impact your chances of promotion.

Stay as a contractor and bill hourly. That way you'll be paid for work you do.

My advice to you is to stay a contractor. You don't want to work at Oracle.

For most tech companies. Are you new to the industry? This is how tech companies get away with not having to report real headcount.
