Link to story below: Of 420 US workers tapped by Kyndryl for this particular round of "transformation," 156 people (37 percent) between the ages of 25 and 70 lost their jobs, at an average age of 55. And 264 people (63 percent) between the ages of... — read more

IBM RTO Policy

Hi All - I am not with IBM but I am trying to build a list of different approaches to RTO. I am focusing on large companies that have presence here on layoffs.com (I am assuming I can get employees to speak up here). Anyhow, if you feel comfortable... — read more

IBM doesn't want a regulatory agency for AI

Of course AK doesn't want any governmental regulatory agency for AI as that would undermine and impede his sinister plans for replacing 20% of back office jobs with AI. Can't have that. Big Bleu better play ball as otherwise methinks they're... — read more

One Madison Ave NY

Did IBM get a few floors there and have most in city report there. I know they were working on that a year ago. Just curious if that ever happened.

IBM removes Saudi leader

Last week I heard that some global execs flew into Saudi from Armonk and got rid of the consulting leader suddenly. Lots of complaints in office about behavior.

MCC - Jonathan to announce 3 day mandatory RTO Monday

He debated announcing this before the MCC engagement survey, but he is now planning to announce mandatory RTO for MCC, 3 days a week, on Monday. You/your team will have the flexibility to choose the days you go in. Unsure of when it will actually go... — read more

Shrinking company with shrinking opportunities

I don't believe that most people would even consider staying here for another 5-6 years. I am wondering about the future of this shrinking company. Can you even imagine what things here will look like five years from now?

I Understand That After Think 2023...

...we are going to be going deep into Metaverse. We know a trend when we see one. And like Cloud and Blockchain and AI, we have the best stuff. In this case, Metaverse Paks.

I have to admit.

With all the negativity towards IBM. No one can deny they make Billions upon Billions each quarter. They continue to do so.

Storage and Power

There is a very good chance Storage and Power (non-enterprise) will go next. Not because of the sale price, but because of the people cost reduction (approx 10-12k if you include TSS and associated cloud), and sharing of investment needed to... — read more

Shortchanged on final paycheck

Received my statement and it shows I got paid for 31.52 hrs for work thru May 4….shouldn’t it be 32 hrs? In the grand scheme of things not a lot of money but annoying…maybe part of some bean counter’s plan to save a little money on the numbers let... — read more

IBM HYBRID CLOUD

Does IBM even do any business in hybrid cloud anymore. That was supposed to be the next big thing after getting Red Hat. I just don't hear anything about Hybrid cloud anymore.

AI

Does the management really think they can replace 8k employees with ChatGPT or whatever other AI? I think they're in for a rude awakening. Those who have been using it know already that it has many, many limitations that can't be overcome as easily... — read more

This is our problem

It seems that after debacles like OS/2 and Watson Health, IBM is no longer even pretending to make stuff "for the masses". IBM is definitely not a consumer products company in the same way that Apple, Google and Microsoft are, but can the company... — read more

AI to replace humans for back-office roles

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ibm-halts-hiring-7-800-011845959.html My personal experience with IBM HR is extremely poor: bureaucratic in their replies, opaque in their processes, and largely incompetent throughout. My biggest surprise is that 26... — read more
