Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Mental Health

Things aren't going too well. Do we have access to mental health benefits, like seeing a therapist? I would like to get access to some help, at least before IBM kicks me to the curb.

You'd have to be crazy to apply for mental health treatment at IBM!

Yes, in the US you have 80% reimbursement. You pay 100% out of pocket and then submit to your insurance. But it’s one of the best benefits we have at IBM. You don’t need to go EAP unless you want to.

@1wqv+1qc7cfY0 Don't disagree with you but sometimes you just need a little extra help.

@2aes+1qc7cfY0 Found it. Thank you.

Wishing a Merry Christmas to everyone on here, and I hope we all find a way to utilize our talents in a gratifying, productive, and lucrative manner, whether that is with IBM, another company, or, perhaps best of all, on our own.

Yes, definitely look into the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to see if you are eligible for free therapy sessions. I was eligible for 6 free ones - and saw a therapist weekly for 2 years straight. Best thing I ever did. Talk to someone if you need to. All the best.

The company is already in flames. Being let go would be a blessing not a curse.
