UAW should be removed from GM and other American OEMs

UAW is obsolete. It takes away the competetiveness of American OEMs. How come Tesla can do it without the inept UAW folks? Look at Hyundai, KIa, Toyota, Honda and NIssan. All made without UAW crushing their competetiveness and therefore able to... — read more

Are the older laid off workers finding jobs?

Since it seems like this lay-off targeted older workers, I’m wondering if those older workers are having difficulties finding a new job? Just curious as to how old you are and how long it took.

401K

Question to those who got laid off recently. What have you done with your 401k savings? Left it where it was or rolled it over? What are the risks of leaving it where it is? and what are the advantages of rolling it over into an IRA?

Electronic cars, it won't work and isn't the solution, nice try GM but the public isn't buying it, nobody is on board and it's a gimmick.

I've worked in cold soak test at very cold temps and the battery is dead. Second an all electric vehicle is not practical at all and the buying public dosent want to deal with the headache. With all of the calibration currently in a regular... — read more

Most of the people can't afford new vehicles both salary and union, this is a fight to eliminate the middle class period.

Henry Ford wanted his employees to be able to afford his vehicles and have a balance with family and home, how is it in 2019 we have not progressed forward but only seem to be moving backwards? It's like we are stuck in this lazy mind set of not... — read more

how long will strike last?

How long do you think the UAW strike will last? I say one more week tops and the UAW caves in. GM has the cash in the bank and inventory to idle their factories for months. I doubt the average factory worker can go another three weeks without a... — read more

One quick point...

Been reading a lot about GM this week... felt compelled to make one small point: General Motors is NOT a "Detroit" automaker. General Motors is a "U.S." automaker. You may think that's a small Quibble... but I disagree. Labeling GM as a... — read more

New layoffs expected

Juat got word from a Director in IT that another round of layoffs is coming in the near future. Target headcounts have already been circulated.

GM India no more.

How on earth does gm expect to engineer the self driving car if they keep crushing IT and engineering? Shooting themselves in the foot for short term goals. They ravage IT here and are laying off left and right and yet they want to squeeze every... — read more
