Sign the darn deal already. UAW needs GM more than GM needs UAW. If youre lucky, you can have your jobs for another 2-3 years while GM goes electric

Don't worry , the way Barra is running the place GM may not even be Around in 2-3 years.
I refuse to buy GM products. Evidently I’m not the only one, as I see a whole lot more foreign brands on the road now than ones made by government motors. I hope this thing lasts to Christmas and beyond.
Look, until they can charge a battery as fast as filling it with gas, its not going to happen.
PERIOD!
The average Joe could care less about this electric car stuff.
Even if there were lots of charging stations, today's batteries take too long to charge.
I think going all in on electric is a big mistake. I don't think anything will come of it over the next 20 years. We all might be looking for new job because of this gamble.
@OP The auto industry is putting all their money, research and hope into electric vehicles and AV.
Electric vehicles have not taken off because they put the cart before the horse. There is no national infrastructure for EVs. They are sufficient to use locally but if I wanted to take a cross country trip with one, I can't.
(BTW, Walmart is helping with charging stations with VW - https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/walmart-vw-electrify-america-ev-charging-station/. American car makers have made this infrastructure someone else's problem becasue they only care about the bottom line.
As for AV, once again there is no infrastructure. Each company is doing their own thing and I have not heard one word about how all these cars are going to be talking with each other. You can't have GM talking with GM, Ford talking with Ford, etc. Where is the universal standard for communication between all companies' vehicles? Besides, AVs won't be available for mass production for 100 years.
