Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Strike Affecting GM Financial?

I work at GM Financial and things are not looking good. We have a larger balance sheet than last year but we have lower earnings which does not make sense. Poor performance is the only explanation. On top of this, with GM producing fewer cars due to the strike, this is fewer cars for GM Financial to finance and make earnings, which exacerbates the problem. Dealers already hate us and will abandon us the moment GM stops using the down payment assistance incentive which forces them to send business to us. Has anyone at GM HQ heard about possible layoffs for GM financial?

For real, valid question.
I think GM people, the common worker is absolutely screwed over.
It's a helpless situation and it's getting worse daily, that's just my opinion from all I have read for the last year and a half.

Does the CFO know this? If she does, there will be more layoffs for sure.
