How long do you think the UAW strike will last? I say one more week tops and the UAW caves in. GM has the cash in the bank and inventory to idle their factories for months. I doubt the average factory worker can go another three weeks without a paycheck.

Poster you tell the truth.
These people on here are really ignorant! Especially when it comes to the pretend EV FUTURE, all B.S..
I guess people really are that ignorant.
Thanks for the good response.
Millennials continue with the ping pong games, such dults.
You cannot collect strike pay and unemployment benefits, look it up!
My projection is 9 weeks
If there were a way to get rid of union janitors GM would have done it before now, and they would have gotten rid of all other union workers too.
The truth is there's no way.
GM won't be able to build vehicles in the US until they make a deal with the UAW.
And it'll take several years and billions of dollars to build new factories in Mexico and China, which is GM's only way to avoid working with unions.
Word in the 7000 Building is GM is already evaluating a No Deal option. Why pay a UAW facility worker/janitor 80K plus benefits when you can get 2 younger, non union workers on the open market for the same cost. Sorry UAW, looks like your days are numbered.
I think strikers can collect Unemployment, so they can go 6 months.
"How long do you think the UAW strike will last? I say one more week tops and the UAW caves in..."
I'd wager that you, sir, are "projecting" your own limits.
Others may have more of a stomach than you.
Granted,
for those who live check to check, a 2-week work-stop is impactful.
But when you believe in what you are doing... they can show impressive perseverance.
Speaking of a strike that ONLY last 2 weeks, check this out:

You may be surprised at which side "caved"...
Stike fund runs out first. Trucks still coming from Mexico
After a month, most of the popular trims will be sold.
Then customers can decide to buy a vehicle that isn't really what they want, or they can wait until the strike is over and new vehicles are produced.
Personally I'd wait rather than spend $60k on something I didn't like. Most people dont HAVE to buy a car right away. They can wait, too, especially considering how much money is involved.
So I think GM's sales will start falling off after a month, and both sides will be feeling the cash crunch.
If the UAW doesn't hold out for at least a month, they'll end up giving in to GM and making the deal the company wants.
Which would run out first? GM’s inventory or the UAW’s strike fund?
