Landed a job within a month of trying

The job market isn’t as bad as everyone’s been saying. Or maybe it was and it scared people off from applying, and now there are plenty of opportunities again. I don’t know for sure. What I do know is that I had several interviews lined up right away, and within a month I got a good offer. The pay’s about the same, but I get better benefits and, more importantly, the culture seems so much better than Humana. Go and apply, folks. You’ve got nothing to lose and a lot to gain.

How long after a round of interviews before you hear back?

Pass the screen, go for the round of interviews, how long before you hear something? Same Day? Couple days? Week? Do rejections come immediately while silence means a possible offer? Or is it the opposite, if they are interested you get an offer right away, and silence just means they aren't interested? What's the norm these days on the interview circuit?

MTech layoff/ NCR outsource

I found outlast week (5 years after outsource), that our outsource was planned for 6 months prior to our layoffs. I was a field Tech in the stores. All of the area Managers knew. They thought they were keeping their jobs! ( Big surprise, they were all let go). Several Analysts in the field knew, they were showing NCR around the stores, after hours when we were off.

The reason for this post, warning to the stores. Planned layoffs are being cemented now before Q3. Watch your back. Not that you can stop the process.....be prepared. Get your resume dusted off and updated. Pull any docs you need off of your personal drive now. Do not trust your supervisor to tell you the truth if you question your job security with the company. Trust noone! Good luck!

Loyalty, Tenure, Job-hoppers, Start-up companies

Some recruiters and companies will question tenure in a company. The perception for staying too long in ONE company is playing safe. Some recruiters are against job-hoppers no longer since it is NOW the norm. Others prefer to hire people who worked for lesser known companies like Alation, Zoox, Snowflake, Earnin, Robinhood who knows what the recruiters think. Have an open mind and create a list of 20-25 target companies (closed to your home and how far willing to commute) Every week apply via their websites directly.

Three 'sudden death' answers at a job interview

Never give these 3 'sudden deaths' answers at a job interview, says CEO—'you've instantly disqualified yourself'. #3 is very interesting, see the link below:

Job hunt…

Is anyone having any luck securing employment? I have had no luck after applying to many so called openings. Reading other boards there are many others in the same boat, and I personally have not seen it this bad before. It seems like most of the job postings only exist to get information from people to be sold to others. Did companies just stop hiring? Even outside oil and gas the same seems to be going on.
