It is too much management and customer centric culture, i worked with many other companies including juniper networks. Culture is employee centric, meidum size management centric and performance and ratings are not much involved.
No learning culture
I have colleagues who will always say that Cisco has a strong emphasis on encouraging employees to continuously seek and apply new skills, but I no longer consider this a learning culture. You? Unfortunately, I feel that I'm wasting my time here and... — read more
Right time to recruit H1-B visa sw engineers
Opportunity for Cisco to cut costs. Lots of desperate H1-B visa Sw developers available in market from Google, Amazon, Meta etc. Well trained and very motivated and lot less expensive.
The "ignore culture" of Cisco
Is it me or do people really like to ignore teammates at this Company? There's people who simply won't acknowledge any calls, emails, or Webex messages. I'll fight for a customer's attention, a parter's to an extent, but I shouldn't have to... — read more
Long stay at Cisco has become shameful
It is interesting that staying here for many years used to be seen as a reflection of loyalty and something praiseworthy, but nowadays it's become almost something to be ashamed of. How did that happen? Neither the company nor other employees... — read more
First Bonus with the new Flim Flam Fran Sham
Taking Bonus from 25 to 18% and they saying look at how much you are paid is completely disingenuous. Why were grade 12s penalized more than any other group?
Consequences for Business Decisions - cut the Management
Should fall on the CxO, hordes of Directors, VPs and managers. These guys do not add anything to the revenue generation process. As ex-Googler Praveen writes: "The recent layoffs should perhaps have focused more on managers and directors and VPs,"... — read more
Cisco, a very big company, but never felt this lonely.
Been 2 years. It's a big company, but never have I felt this lonely before. Unlike other tech companies I previously worked, employees at Cisco are so cold, evasive, unfriendly. I of course know that a company is not a place to make friends, but I... — read more
Nowhere is safe
The sooner you realize leadership isn't really looking out for anyone except themselves, the happier you will be. Doesn't matter what company it is. People have had it for companies that don't look out for their workers. No where is safe. The sooner... — read more
It seems it’s no different elsewhere.
Just for fun I took a look at the Palo Alto Networks layoff page. It looks the same as this page. Not judging just find it interesting.
Quarter Numbers
question : if the numbers and quarter is so great , why did we push out 4 k people for rebalancing ? we keep building a submissive culture where only "Yes" men are rewarded ?
Well Done; 20%+30% bonus!

Mid Year
Did we get our mid year advance? I can’t access CEC for some reason.
Talent comes to die here
It's terrible how much Cisco doesn't value talent. At one time, there were many great people here. But if you ask those who have left, most will tell you that they feel like they just wasted their talent here. Does Cisco really not have a need for... — read more
Employees, don't count on your RSUs
There are a slew of older folks I know in the LR. They are usually higher-paid and then legally Cisco doesn't need to pay out on the RSUs. It's a huge legal loophole that Cisco uses that saves hundreds of millions. If Cisco had to pay all the... — read more
Hiring freeze?
If this is an accurate rumor, any ideas if they will still allow LR impacted people to apply to positions?
Outdated things at Cisco that bother you the most?
I totally agree that Cisco is somewhat behind the times, which of course has negative business impacts. I heard from many people that they only became aware of this issue here when they went to other tech companies.

Update on Americas Sales Layoffs
RB and several sales leaders are at the Super Bowl this weekend all at the expense of those that were laid off. Another example of out touch leadership who continues to take care of themselves while doing nothing for the field.
Mid-Year Advance
Let's all have a little fun. How many of you think we will get a mid-year advance? After having one of the most successful Q1s ever and Q2 looking promising, the way Cisco has been going, i'd say no LOL
