It has been a extraordinary week. I am one of the few people to survive. I feel very bad for people being let go. For myself and others that are staying, I am starting too feel people that survive this is just a temporary reprieve before the next... — read more
Trying to make it to retirement
I don't like the whole situation at all. I am an older worker who is afraid of getting cut before the retirement. I am no longer marketable because of my age. I'm in a dilemma whether to hurl myself onto the job market or take a risk and try to... — read more
July 2022 AIG Layoff Count
July 2022 AIG Layoff Count: 300 from Group Retirement (VALIC) 150 from Individual Retirement 400 from elsewhere (assuming that is Life Insurance).
Betrayal
What else to add here... AIG is selling employees like cattle to 3rd party companies or totally eliminating them all in the name of cost reduction and stock price. Those of you optimists who want to believe it won't happen you are naive. This is... — read more
Data drive - anyone else
Our department are on a huge drive to make sure that the data in the systems is up to date and correct. Quite surprising as this has come from no where and has never been an issue in the past. I have my suspicions as to what this is all about ... — read more
Outsourcing L&R Ops to Accenture
Town halls taking place to announce outsourcing all of L&R ops to Accenture. Supposedly you will fall into 3 categories 1. Safe at CRBG 2. Move to Accenture 3. Axed….so what is purpose of corebridge? If you don’t have any operations none of the other... — read more
LR finance RIP
Just heard some rumors.... anyone can confirm?
Adjuster System access accidentally cutoff
Heard there were several adjusters in WC and a few other departments accidentally had their access to processing systems termed yesterday and now it's a scramble to get them back in
Promotions
Are promotions still happening or has a freeze of some kind been implemented? I've been promised a promotion ten months ago and I'm still waiting on it. When I bring the issue up with my manager, he's quick to reassure me it's coming but I need to be... — read more
What’s the latest word on Workers Comp?
Is AIG still writing the business? Have all WC claims been transferred to Gallagher? Have AIG WC employees been severed, or transferred to Gallagher?
I don't remember this happening before
I have been working here for a very long time. It used to happen that someone left relatively quickly after getting hired, but these were very rare cases. Now it is not at all unusual for someone who has only been here for two months to leave AIG... — read more
AIG is all about cost saving
It's no longer about trying to be the best or trying to provide better services and products that will attract more business. These days, it's all about achieving the desired numbers by cutting costs. This is why we've been having more layoffs and... — read more
They Could Have Kept People
Considering all of the people who were to kept on and go to Gallagher Bassett who instead chose to leave. AIG could have negotiated the hiribg of the ones remaining
Nobody cares anymore
I don't know a single person who's still going the extra mile. The top performers who used to go above and beyond are now doing only what they have to. AIG has gone too far in how badly it treats employees and this is the logical reaction to it... — read more
Two Tech Leaders gone this week
So Steve F yesterday and SY tomorrow. What is going on? What happened to the re-org that has been discussed for months but never announced? What is going on with AIG management?
AIG in the next 5 years
I certainly won't be here then. I intend to leave soon. What is the probability that AIG will be sold in the near future? I ask this purely hypothetically, I'm interested in what you think. I don't have any insights.
Steve Fernandez out
Word is some big shake up in NY resulted in Steve Fernandez's ouster. Due to unexpected costs of cloud and unrealistic time lines to migrate for AWS and Azure? Anyone else hear the same?
Hop or Stay?
If you were given the chance, would you switch over to Corebridge when they separate if you were given an offer, or stay at AIG in General Insurance?
Hey Lucy!
Why don't you care about diversity? Why don't you care about Juneteenth? Why can't I have a day off to reflect? You said AIG loves DEI. You said you cared. You obviously do not. Stop the fake virtue signaling. No one is buying it.

Is plan to transfer all Claims to GB or Accenture?
Starting to wonder if all Claims departments left will be sent to Gallagher Bassett (shudder!) or Accenture too. Including A&H, Travel, and I don't know what's left. Amazing how great our quarterly reports say, but then we got miniscule raises... — read more

Is AIG too big to fail?
After all the bad decisions made by the leadership - if you can even call them that - the company is still standing. I sometimes wonder if it's true that some businesses have grown enough they're too big to fail. No matter what happens, the company... — read more
What's Going On With IPO
Any rumors or updates on "corebridge"? Will there be layoffs in L&R?
Welcome AIG Interns!
That is the caption on the Contact page. 270 fresh careers to destroy. It is unconscionable to teach kids that this is how a company should act. Interns, if you read this, run!
Is your final check direct deposit or a a paper check?
Woke up to not seeing my final and last check in my account from AIG since my resignation. Is your final check still DD or do they mail it out??
Outsourcing / layoffs
Is this just happening in the U.S or is it going on in other countries too?
Transfer to Accenture

Claims transfer to Gallagher Bassett
Has the transfer to Gallagher Bassett fallen apart? Not only have most taken other jobs who were to go but I am hearing rumblings of a big problem with the contract and work going over, anyone know?
There is no hope that this mess will be fixed
Years of bad management could be fixed only with a miracle. Is there anyone who thinks that the company could somehow get back on track? I no longer have any hopes for that. Management here manages the decline and that’s all.
AIG's biggest mistake
Treating employees as an expense instead of an investment. When the management decided that knowledge and experience meant nothing and started laying off the highest-paid employees (the ones who have been here the longest) was the beginning of the... — read more

The toxic culture overpowered the logic.
Sadly that is the situation for some time now. AIG does not value its employees, we all know that very well and that has become a part of the company culture. What I don’t get in this whole situation is how do they not realize that people will leave... — read more
It's Obvious that AIG is Trying to Figure out the Most Cost Effective Way to Downsize GI, with the Ultimate Goal to Sell or Dismantle it
For example, AIG is outsourcing more claims, generating layoffs, and transferring and hiring Accenture to take on a larger role is handling what typically would be AIG business.
Uh Oh!
AIG stock is tanking again. Time to cut expenses and dump another billion into a share buyback. Looks like no raises next year and good luck with sti if you get any at all.
