Milking a dying cash cow... don't stick around

I was laid off in 2017, I quickly found a new job and have been doing great. I saw the writing on the wall and skilled up. Just about every company is hiring and having trouble finding talent. It is a great time to start interviewing. You... — read more

What Oracle did for “employee retention”

This is serious and only for Support but I imagine the rest of the company too based on other team’s attrition rates. They had this goofy acronym called FOCAL (or maybe it is wordplay on F*** Y’all) that is the employee compensation program. Nobody... — read more

Morale? What’s that?

This place is like a cruise ship leaving dock... from Southampton in 1912. Truly smart people never boarded. A few smart ones got off at the first two stops. The rest of us simps sailing along knowing something ain’t quite right. Didn’t Oracle... — read more

Things must pretty good …

I have not seen a layoff post here in some time, in fact, most posts are old, unanswered and created by; ex employees, HR, or the competition. All this when the number of employees is at a high level mark!

Lots of Talent walking out the door

Recently a lot of good Development and Support talent has left Oracle. Why? Because they are the more knowledgeable employees and have the easiest time finding new employment. After years of no bonuses, raises or advancement they finally realized... — read more

Oracle needs Tech, Business and Culture

Oracle lacks strong leadership in the middle layers. More political plays rather than business or technology. Most directors lack Business skills, Most Consulting members lack technical skills. A big puppet show for Customers. Oracle also lacks... — read more

Life after Oracle is good

Joined Oracle through an acquisition a few years ago and got canned last year. Let me tell you, life is so gooooood after ORCL .... 35% pay raise. 60% less work.... and a whole lot of respect from colleagues and management in my new company. Don't... — read more

Need some advice

This might be the wrong place to ask this, but I am a bit desperate. Do you have any tips for an interview with Oracle? It's for a software engineer position. I'm just hoping to get some input from people who have done it before, and I'm not sure... — read more

Anyone work for any of the GBU’s?

I’ve been with a GBU for some years. What I have noticed is that as we have acquired companies, that company becomes the prettiest girl in the class. I’ve watched people land mgmt jobs (all levels) who should not only not be managing; they can’t even... — read more

Are bonuses really restricted by rank / seniority?

Currently an IC2 (3 years employed) , was not offered any bonus in latest pay reviews despite having very good performance. Was informed by leadership that bonuses are restricted to IC3+ , is this actually true? Seems unfair I can perform well and... — read more

OCI-C to OCI MIGRATION

Can anyone confirm whether OCI-C is workloads are completely shifted. Is OCI-C is dismantled or still Oracle continuing with it?

Is there anybody out there?

Hey you, out there on the road Always doing what you're told Can you help me? Hey you, out there beyond the wall Breaking bottles in the hall Can you help me? Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall

I don't really believe it

Can't rule out the possibility, but it seems to me simply unbelievable that with the existing attrition there will be cuts as well? That would be too much.

Lot of posts pointing to july 15, what’s happening?

I would love nothing more than to get a package. I've been here too long. There is more and more talk about July layoffs, but there are no more detailed insights on how big these layouts will be or who will be the target? If anyone has any useful... — read more

Or is there someone who thinks Oracle is still a good company? My opinion is that it doesn't even look like the company I started working for. People no longer have the enthusiasm they had back in the day. Young talented people no longer like... — read more

Oracle OCI vs Juniper's offer

I guess some management want to hire young people

to fulfil the task of making average employee age younger. This won't fix Oracle's current problem. Get ride of those toxic level2, level3 managers who have root in this company. Especially, working 5, 8, 10 years. They are toxic.

Why are so many Oracle employees so bitter?
