Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Things must pretty good …

I have not seen a layoff post here in some time, in fact, most posts are old, unanswered and created by; ex employees, HR, or the competition.

All this when the number of employees is at a high level mark!

Interesting how we can go multiple days on this site with no comments. I guess things are pretty good!

Your logic is interesting. Sun losers have no skill, and they are just hanging on, perhaps even being promoted (There goes that Peter principle again!). Wouldn’t that suggest that they too are among the savvy, being paid top dollar for no skills? Why would they leave? That would make them losers.

Axman is 100% correct. No need for layoffs when so many people are leaving for greener pastures.

Basically at this point anyone who is still at Oracle has either drunk the OCI koolaid or has no skills and is just hanging on until retirement collecting a paycheck.

The numbers of OCI people who will be leaving in the next few weeks is going to be a tidal wa w. This is because their yearly RSUs have just vested and are in the process of being deposited into their accounts.

The savvy folks have their new jobs on hold for a few more days. The non savvy ones are just starting to interview now. The bottom line is that there is a major wave of attrition coming very soon, even in OCI.

TO ALL OF YOU SUN LOSERS STILL HANGING AROUND — you are going to get what is coming to you. You thought you could coast to retirement. The last 10 years deceived you. You are all Sun LOSERS and Oracle is going to get rid of all of you very soon. That is, all of you they haven’t already laid off.

Mark Terd is smiling on all of you from above. The work he started continues unabated.

This is the Ax-Man, coming at you from the empty halls of the Santa Clara campus. It is truly a ghost town here.

I posted here many weeks ago that past May, no new layoffs would be needed, or planned for the rest of 2021. This is because the attrition rate is approximately 5x the normal rate since the beginning of the calendar year. Major numbers of employees are leaving — and few are being replaced or backfilled. For those who are, Oracle is only paying modest compensation except for OCI.

There not firing because there is a mass exodus of top talent walking out. Other companies are paying significantly higher, Oracle just isn’t even attempting to compete. There trying to beat AWS/Azure on a shoe string budget.

My department is about 50 people. We’ve lost 30% of our staff. One fired and the rest left. Oracle sucks. The worst mgmt in the world. Like just terrible human beings.

Where is people to layoff ? Attrition is at high

People have realized that it is useless to work in Oracle. Even in India and other countries People get offers which are twice or thrice their current salary. I moved out of Oracle last month with almost 100k increment in my salary.
