In Soviet Russia there were two newspapers: Pravda and Izvestia. These translate to "the truth" and "the news". Soviet Russians used to joke that there was no truth in the news. Candor is part of NetApp's corporate culture. I mention this in light of... — read more
What will be will be
Net app is no different than any other company that was doing well and paid well. We spent more time working up rather than working out. The Directors had some real power issues on who was who so that slowed down progress. we would get feedback on... — read more
NetApp is a cult
It's amazing that even people who have been executed by the current and past management still can not see NetApp for what it is. Its a place where the few succeed at the expense of the many. It's a place where the executives play musical chairs with... — read more
NetApp = SUN
NetApp is a perfect analog for SUN. While SUN tried to force feed Solaris and SPARC to customers the industry moved on to Linux/X86. That baggage doomed SUN to a fire sale. NetApps baggage is even greater. Firing employees, selling buildings and... — read more

Realignment
I'm surprised at this bitterness. I was a long time employee at NetApp and part of a realignment in 2015. NetApp was fair to me during and after my employment ended. Please wake up NetApp provides a source of employment for you not a lifetime... — read more

Netapp not a great place work
Does anyone think they asked to be taken off the list since even NetApp has to think it's tacky to be promoting the same week as massive layoffs? To go from the 30s to off the list is pretty drastic especially when the list was compiled many months... — read more

Entire storage industry is in bad shape
I work with a Netapp competition, and don't think this is Netapp specific. But entire storage industry is in bad shape. This is the time for NetApp to fire the bad apples, and hire new blood. All the best.
Why Rob salmon is still there with him leading more than 50% of total netapp employees? Why was his org not right sized?
