Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Layoffs to be announced at FY17 Q1 all hands?

I heard from sources that a layoff is to be announced at the FY17 Q1 all hands. The layoff is expected to be small but will include senior folks mostly. Are these rumors true?

Are there any statistics showing the ethnic background of those being laid off and those kept on? I'm not insinuating NA is little India...wait, yes I am. Just calling it like I see it, you don't have to believe the truth but America is wasting time trying to keep the wrong brown people out of the US while promoting bringing in those who are actually taking highly skilled, well-paying jobs. Or for that matter just sending all the jobs to Georgie' s homeland. While he and his brother conspire. Sure, I am a bigot, but that does not make what I stated false. We'll getting f---ed in the a-- while they laugh all the way to the bank.

Cost Structure

 As I discussed on our last earnings call, aligning our cost structure with the opportunities in front of us is

my top priority and completely within our control

 Although we have made progress on this front, we will continue to take additional steps throughout the

year to permanently lower our cost structure, including but not limited to, headcount reductions and

continue to drive greater efficiencies across the business

o We will continue to communicate specifics as these savings are realized

The transcript is publicly available, and does specifically mention an upcoming 'headcount' reduction. Search for 'headcount' at this link:

I heard the same thing during earnings call on Wed. Reduction in workforce will occur in Q2.

There's been rumors about this topic in the NetApp-Wichita office.

How much more can you cut, people will continue to leave instead of being cut.

The layoffs this time around may be compact. They may not even announce it a few weeks/months ago like it was done previously.

You're right, it won't be announced as "layoffs". It will be announced as "headcount transformation" or "people impact"

I know of several directors that should lose their jobs.

This thread is trying to scare people. No layoffs will be announced (via EVP).

They will discuss how transformation is working and ship's course is going in the right direction.
