Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Check your teams

They should see how unorganized whole company is. In ASUP team which is a typical MIS team. They have 2 Sr directors, one director, one sr manager, atleast 4 managers and 8 program managers. Whole team is close to 100 plus and Sunnyvale heavy. What kind of company can allow a team to grow like this?

All this can be done by a 25 members team based whole at bangalore.

You nailed it regarding that bangalore never delivers at NetApp 😊. But isn't that netapp problem or leadership problems. Look other companies bangalore is there center of excellence with only necessary functions based out of USA.

Bangalore never delivers. Turnover rate is high, and resources are constantly wasted to train new employees/contractors, only to see them jump ship two months later.

Maybe it's cheaper if you are simply looking at bodies, but they rarely get the job done.

Thats right. All exetution and technical team with managment should be at bangalore. Considering the cost that should be model. We can have business analysis or products managers at US. Besides only L2 team needs to be 24*7 to make sure technical process do not break.

If cost needs to be contained and if a 25 person team in Bangalore can deliver, the obviously the cost of 25 people in Bangalore would be much less than the same team in the US. From what i have heard the cost in Bangalore is about 60% of the US. So unless 12 people in US can do the same amount of work wouldnt Blore be a better choice. The best outcome would be to have a 10 person team in the US and a 15 person team in Bangalore or some such mix.

Dosent matter where you keep team. Bottomline is you dont need that many people to run MIS reporting deliveriable.

Why do you feel the team should be based in Bangalore vs. restructuring the team with resources from within the US?
