Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Stab Netapp the first chance you get folks. Let it bleed blue.

In my 2 years at Netapp as a fresher, I have gone from caring so much about a company to not giving a flying f--- about it to hating it.

I have seen my peers (less than 1-2 years exp) being asked to leave citing performance or whatever reasons. This is utter BULLSHIT. I don't want to see it happen again.

It's high time Dave Hitz was put out to pasture.

Well said is correct!!! I made a little over 1.6m while at NetApp it was my last stop. I saw good times and bad times. I never let the culture or the directors holier than thou behavior bother me. I worked hard when called on. I was focused on the bigger picture - me -how can I beef up my net worth so I can live good and not work again. I didn't really give a hoot about the corporate bs. I received a package and it was s good one. I play golf twice a week now, travel and live in a great neighborhood. Just like the well said comment was saying Take care of number one and quit caring about Netapp so much. They can buy what they need. Make sure you can to.

Your problem is caring. Learn what you can, polish up the resume, move on.

Silly but true story: Five years ago - at TOAST, GRITS, EGGSBENEDICT, whatever, one of those welcome-the-newbies things - Dave Hitz was asked about the then-current brain drain of folks (who were seeing the writing on the wall). Answer: "Talent doesn't matter. We can buy talent." Needless to say, that accelerated the attrition. More to the point, he's right... companies can buy all the talent they need. But in turn, me and you can grow our talent and take it to wherever it's most appreciated. On the other hand, Dave's "We can buy talent" was the moment that the famous "NetApp Culture" jumped the shark, since then it's been lip-service only. Anybody seen Tom Mendoza lately?

Time for you to find a new job, there's no prospect for improvement if people who "hate it" stay.
