Why is there a lack of collaboration?

Productivity, quality, profitability: everything suffers from a lack of collaboration in this company. It may be my subjective impression, but never, over a long series of years, has collaboration between employees been worse. I don’t know why... — read more

Degree-less need not apply

Anyone notice how the majority of the new post for jobs require a bachelors of course they put in there work experience will count as education but I think they legally have to say that wha t do you guys think about that. And I hear that if you... — read more

Engineering in Puerto Rico?

Did anyone catch the article in the RTN home page about engineering being put in one building in Puerto Rico? I just want other peoples perspective on what they interpreted when they read it. Because to me it looks like they want the engineers from... — read more

New job titles/new time cards/new badges

All of these indicate additional measures taken to reduce workforce and or reduce employees due to their actual work production. I can guess they’re putting new devices in the badges that track employees whereabouts on campus to see in fact they are... — read more

I used to be proud to work at this company

It used to mean something. When we were known for the quality of our products more than for the many layoffs that have become the norm lately. When age and experience that comes with it was an asset and not a detriment like it is today. Remember... — read more

False rumor

So I guess the pist about layoffs at legacy RTN are false? There has been no information whatsoever, not even rumors. I guess the original poster just posted to start something.

Everybody is afraid

Nearly all of my coworkers seem to be scared to death of layoffs all the time. As a result, I'm yet to hear somebody disagree with or stand up to their abusive manager or say no to an unreasonable request. Maybe I don't get it because I'm younger and... — read more

How useful to you are the predictions about cuts?

People just argue about whether there is truth in the rumor about layoffs or not... I visit this site sometimes out of pure curiosity, but in essence the predictions about layoffs mean nothing to me because even without them I know how ridiculous... — read more

Will they take responsibility for anything?

Of course, this is illusory to expect. That’s impossible and for as long as I’ve been in this company, it’s never happened before that “leadership” takes responsibility for their bad moves. Someone noticed this well: there is always a problem with... — read more

Yes, A New Wave Of Layoffs

Yes, the rumors are true, more massive layoffs coming. Poor Raytheon employees are treated like sheep as they have always been. They are supposed to publicly announce layoffs of this magnitude but management seems unwilling to reveal the truth. So... — read more

New Layoffs

Yikes! 21,500 more layoffs?! Not supposed to know this. My boss is very scary.

Growing nepotism?

It seems to me that once at least it was disguised, and now it is more and more obvious. My opinion is that there were never really equal opportunities for everyone here, but especially not now. It's become really awful. Of course everyone who is... — read more

Legacy Raytheon Company Is In Trouble

The old IDS only focused on Patriot-you see what has happened to the ex-president and cfo of IDS. WS completely missed hypersonics. The only good results are with RIS. The genesis of that technology is the El Segundo group-the heart of that is... — read more

Some sound advice

Don’t get to comfortable here. Don’t believe the company has any interest in investing in employees. Put out feelers (what can it hurt?) and always look for that next job opening. But most of all be prepared for the unexpected. And no matter how... — read more

Raytheon is doing well...

The defense side of legacy Raytheon is doing great and is what is keeping the new company afloat. IF UTC did not purchase/merge with Raytheon they would probably be in trouble. The question is Raytheon was doing great by itself so why the merger? — read more

Screw this company

So the company expects those being laid off “will be offered the opportunity to work for one of the contractors” taking over the project. It's not a guarantee, but for them it makes it all better. Leave it to Raytheon to try to negate layoffs by... — read more

Did UTC prompt investigation after looking at books?

Hearing it may be a possibility. Possible merger dissolution? Law suits for breach? Several class action suits currently, which will cripple UTC/RTX. UTC sues to recoup losses from subsidiaries, and then dissolution?
