Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

Are there more advantages or disadvantages from RFID trackers?

Are RFID trackers really that necessary? What will be the benefits of RFID solutions for Raytheon? I am particularly interested in whether they will play a role in performance review and be used to decide layoffs in the future as someone mentioned here? I believe it will...

This is all about tracking you in the privacy of your home. It's like hunting -tracking the movement of the prey and taking it out. RFID's are a very bad thing.

While I don’t work from home, if I had to theorize I would say that there would be some keystroke monitoring software and or some kind of software that monitors mouse movement. It may sound ridiculous but it doesn’t sound silly to me. If you’re “working” then they will come up with X amount of keystrokes per hour that an average person should have and that will be the baseline. Again I’m just guessing but that sounds like something they would do in my opinion.

If tracking is true, how will it work if almost all salaried are working from home? Who will be monitoring? Managers will be tracked too.

The benefit is for the company. With RFID tracking they can see how long you really spend getting a cup of coffee, going to the bathroom, spend at your work station. They will NEVER tell you that it will affect your performance review but you know better than that. They don’t want people that casually get work done. They want maximum performance everyday so that they can promise work completion at a faster rate to the customers. They want to focus on velocity and quality. Meaning they want more things done faster and perfect. When they go to the shareholders and show them that they are maximizing work and cutting down on low production employees is looks good to them. Eventually you’ll be replaced by someone willing to work 6-7 days a week at any hours the company says at half your pay. That’s the goal. Replace steady, or casual workers for fast paced ones. That’s just my 2 cents anyway
