Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

Everybody is afraid

Nearly all of my coworkers seem to be scared to death of layoffs all the time. As a result, I'm yet to hear somebody disagree with or stand up to their abusive manager or say no to an unreasonable request. Maybe I don't get it because I'm younger and I haven't been here all that long, but it's really sad to see these proud people having to go through such humiliation every day. Why is there such fear? There are other jobs out there and even if there weren't I don't know that I'd be willing to put up with such cr-p constantly.

Most of the people that out up with the most cr-p are older people and bad workers. Good workers in their prime won’t put up with much BS. Older people have to put up with more the closer they get to retirement because it’s harder for them to get a job at 60+. The bad workers or fu__offs, stay as long as they can because they know they can’t last long in many other workplaces because they suck. I’m in the process of looking for another job because my building that I work in is a joke. Total cluster__ck. I’m sick of all the disorganized, dysfunctional, ignorant stuff that goes on from horrible management from the top down. So, good people will leave and the older workforce bears the brunt of the load as people come and go.

I think an answer to your question might be; Raytheon ( now Raytheon technologies ) is among several of the old defense Giants it once had a particular reputation about( once you get in the door) you were set for life!!!! With patents, pension, and benefits. An ingrained (you’ll be in the standing strong with the American way) many retired military people went into Raytheon with that same concept of endurance do or die so I think it’s a mentality that is just ingrained definitely ingrained in the managerial positions and that’s just my opinion on The older way of thinking. Now you come and see all these new hires with bachelors and Masters in their field coming in as engineers foot in the door many of them females with a different mentality and it’s going a hard to ingrain that ethic and then it’s going to be a new landscape and Raytheon technologies it Hass to be there’s no way they can continue with that mentality with the current population and the currently educated. Dare I say I believe it’s moving in the right direction how can anyone function at their capabilities in a toxic environment
