Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

How many have been laid off during pandemic?

I think the number was around 20k, but it might be more.

Stabilizes? Nothing's going to stabilize. You wanted a new normal, you got one.

"Stabilizes" is a ubiquitous term that is subject to interpretation.
That kind of information is handled inside the company and is not well filtered out to the employees. That is probably done purposely to prevent bad PR and Lawsuits.
Plus there are a variety of things that can happen (brought back at a lower wage for example) if you're a salaried as opposed to a bargaining unit employee.
In essence, you're not over the hurdle once you get re-activated from furlough. Welcome to the new normal.

If laid off, then no callback. If furlotugh then yes might be called back.

And will any of the people who were cut be called back when the situation stabilizes?
