Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

False rumor

So I guess the pist about layoffs at legacy RTN are false? There has been no information whatsoever, not even rumors. I guess the original poster just posted to start something.

The "official announcement" (about reduction in force) occurs on the day that you are walked out the door. Why give a "heads up" (so that one can cause chaos and trouble)?

New job titles are common in the merger of companies. Expect new computer system (prism going away?) and new time card system too. But that doesn't mean layoffs. Until there is an official announcement regarding reduction in work force at legacy RTN, dont believe everything you hear since rumors are just that.

I’m not the original poster and I’ve heard the same thing in my building. But I guess you must be super special because if YOU haven’t heard anything than it must be false. I’ve heard the word layoff thrown around here lately a lot. But varying levels of employees and some management. There was an email sent out recently related to new “job title categories” or something of the sort that everyone will soon be in new job category. I.e. you’ll have a new job title and likely new pay grade. I doubt they want to do a layoff-layoff so easiest way is to reduce pay and Or benefits and get people to quit. Many ways to get people out without you’re stereotypical layoff. There, now it’s all spelled out for you so you don’t have to think to hard.
