Uncertain conditions

My question is how to be productive knowing that there are layoffs every quarter? Constant stress. Does every quarter have to be cuts? It has become so exhausting that I would love to finally get the package and get out of here.

Remember when leadership claimed…

That Cenovus’s people were its greatest asset? What kind of company treats its greatest asset like sh*t on their shoe? There will be a reckoning. As the economy improves and more tech companies surface in Calgary, this miserable company will start to... — read more

Not trying to make things better

I used to think it was incompetence, but now I think more and more that our leadership has no desire to make things better in this company? That would be really insane, but it’s not impossible, because how else to explain the whole situation in... — read more

The void in Calgary

Why has CVE consistently had more layoffs than its peers?

Obviously, during a downturn and a pandemic, layoffs will occur. However Cenovus has, by a large margin, had far more layoffs than its peers. It’s like clockwork here. You maybe get a year off, then there’s another massive round. It never stops. What... — read more

Folks I think the person posting on here about Husky vs Cenovus staff is most likely some troll just trying to stir things up. I have both Husky and Cenovus on my team and they all get along just fine. I’m not saying everything is perfect but I have... — read more

Outsider perspective on CVE

I have no skin in the game here and have never worked for CVE or Husky. I occasionally browse competitor pages on this forum as I have a role in hiring at our company. The posts below with the vitriol and animosity from CVE staff, and how Husky... — read more

Why would anyone believe a word out of CEO’s mouth?

How many times did he insist, to the point of actually getting angry about being asked, that there were going to be no more layoffs? “Look, how many more times do I have to say this?…no more layoffs.”. Well, except for the 2100 we’re tossing after... — read more

Looks like they took down the anti HSE/CVE posts

But all I know if there is a lot of us vs them going on and one thing that binds is we all want out. Anyone will take a job that comes up Without a significant pay cut. We are ripe for the job harvest.

October Layoffs

Please post any layoffs that have occurred in October all depts!! Did any happen on Friday??

Can someone explain??

So why are all our leaders being made to take mandatory harassment training all of a sudden? Anyone know what’s up with this? I was talking to someone and they said all our management has to take mandatory training.

There is Work to be Done

There is work to be done converting the HLU over to FCCL. Imaging how much this 80,000 BPD upgrader is going to help with the 600,000 BPD bitumen differential?

Feeling stuck and depressed

Also a bit shocked. A colleague (50+) told me that he has been trying to get out of here for a year now. I haven't reached 50 yet, but I'm not much younger and I've been looking for a job for over 3 months, so his story demoralized me a bit. I hope I... — read more
