Class action lawsuit against OfficeMax for misuse of exempt labor for non-exempt tasks prompts Office Depot to layoff assistant managers in most stores. Stores in employment at will states given no reason for the layoff.

Looks like Office Depot will be no more in about 25 days, What will the new name be ? S-Depot, SMAX, The Depot, SOM, the possibilities aree endless...

Staples sent around notice today to around 100 people that they were being terminated due to lower than expected numbers.

Our GM of many years is leaving. We are a tier 4 store that is less then profitable. Anyone care to weight in with what are the odds they just close us. Here's hoping.

Staples is sinking ship, it has laid off 65 people recently from corporate office on August 04th. This is strange, for showing the better results in second quarter, Staples is laying off employees but keeping contractors.

Hopefully they rule in favor of the postal workers union that the USPS/Staples partnership violates their contract.
