Now that we know the merger will not happen they will move quickly to close all the stores they wanted to close..... Bye Bye... Oh and the stock Bye Bye, Oh and Staples.com JOKE Bye Bye
It depends on your volume and if the buyout goes through. After that it depends on only one thing. Your proximity to one of those stores. When the dust settles the NEW STAPLES will exist for a short period of time as stores continue to be closed. Five years from now 400 maybe fewer stores of the merged company will still be operated. Even those will continue to be whittled down annually. MATH dictates...
heard that a new list of leases coming up is being looked at and stores that are at neg. comps for the year are being required to respond to the DM, RVP and SVP on reasons why...and we all know that excuses won't be taken seriously.
It would probably depend on each target store's lease.
