Corporate Express should come back. They were respected by customers. Send out one of your pointless surveys and ask the customers.

The only thing keeping Staples afloat is NAD. Formerly Corporate Express. They managed to alienate many of the corporate customers due to their arrogance. That part of the business is a shadow of what it once was. Everything they touch turns to crap.

There are a lot of employees working at Staples IT department from TCS Indian company. They should let them go and hire more people from here.

A major one is coming to Framingham really really soon from what I heard- big org charts out on leadership desks..... Sad and anxious faces on people you normally see as upbeat and smiling. It's really too bad...

? Chances of layoffs in Framingham... Answer these ? What are the chances top line sales will continue to decline? What are the chances more stores are closed (with or without merger)? What are the chances middle management will continue to crank the screws on hours and higher paid store managers? The answer to all of these is the same. In short your company is in a death spiral. All positions will be shrunk/diminished/eliminated.

All of us need to look at the bigger picture. Vote for a Presidential candidate that has your best interests in mind.

It's Staples, no job is ever safe! I'd put feelers out and look for a better place to work. I can imagine, outside of Framingham, in the field, service consultants, sales administrators and other non-direct selling positions will go. Service consultants do nothing that customer service can't do. Sales Admins can be farmed to India and centralized, if a rep needs something done.....put in a salesforce.com request. Mail can be sorted by anyone, managers can handle sales meeting planning....it's all a no brained.

Ron needs some where to put his throne, Otis needs a cafeteria (and a fitness center, to walk by and think "maybe tomorrow") . There also needs to be a payroll office they can physically go to bully a middle manager to issuing bonus checks to execs even when they do not meet the payout criteria.

Why would they keep the jobs here? They can do these same jobs in India there is no physical work needed can be do from over seas. That way they can make the share holders more money. That will make up for the money they lost when they had to bring some drivers back and all the support needed to start all over again . How much did it cost to do that? Why do they need the building in Framingham it could be done from Inda or anywhere.
