Stop Zoom Huddles

Please LT again you have caused us mental stress with a disorg- reorg. But please dont rub our wounds with your petty 5 minute zoom huddle to tell us about your exhausion from all the calls you had to make. We dont want that right now, we don't care... — read more

For what is worth…

English is not my first language but I work in Supply Chain. We were told that layoffs were done Monday for our Team. For other teams it was Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Now, we are waiting for the re-org. We lost +15 years at the brand. Support... — read more

Used to be first and foremost about Sport...

and the minute the leaders decided to stand unabashedly and above all for big, unhealthy bodies - and other "marginalized" identities - we began a slow, painful journey to where we find ourselves today...it's a shame.

Is Brand Marketing in scope for wave 2

Geo employee here trying to figure out how we’ll all work together after all this. I’ve been reading about several functions here, who are going through their impacts this week? What about the CMO-reporting teams? Are they in scope?

Glad to be out

Nothing left to stick around for at this point. Nike has completely lost its way and lost the draw/appeal to work there. Sad but true. For those of us that were part of yesterday's RIF, consider it a blessing in disguise. Stings for sure but in the... — read more

Software engineering impact?

I heard TPM has a big impact, so wondering what is happening within engineering, any info from that area? Waiting here in Emea for the round to hit and to be honest otnis really scary.

Lose as a Team

Sitting at home, isolated from my teammates as they get knocked of one by one (and who are prohibited from saying anything), waiting for my own ax to fall, is some kind of gross, humiliating and completely unnecessary torture.

Lots of Nike Lifers let go.

The average tenure I’ve seen let go is around 20 years. Some way above that, some in the 15 range. Was the objective to get people out that knew how awesome this place used to be?

So backwards

if you want to know how all of this works, here’s the truth. Finance establishes a financial target that needs to be hit and then the drones in HR scramble to figure out who needs to go. Often it’s VPs and above deciding your fate. They have zero... — read more

Good bye, Nike

I have to move out after 10 years of service. It is not the same Nike I once got inspired with. It is full of politics and back stabbing. Hope this change soon for the betterment of my friends and colleagues who stay back. Good luck, all.

Tech Ops Weak

If the below is true and tech ops is done, we are still weaker than ever with EC and su-k ups still intact. Brutal. Fingers still crossed for severance tomorrow and don’t @ me with how grateful I should be for still having a job today.

Today: only Director and above??

It seems today was only Director, S Directors and VP etc. Anyone below a Director impacted today? Trying to assess if tomorrow is Managers and below?

Severance Package Email

Has anyone received their severance package email yet? Was told by the end of the business day but haven’t received anything yet. Any idea on if PTO would be paid out a fellow colleague was paid out their annual bonus as part of their severance... — read more

Meeting details

How long are layoff meetings? Got scheduled for one tomorrow. 25 minutes.

A lot of people let go today

I had a lot of coworkers and associates let go today. Seems like it hit product management in technology quite hard. Also, it sounds like there were a fair amount innovation were also let go. Surprisingly, I still saw some SDs let go. Also, there... — read more

AIC - All clear (innovation)

No more layoffs for those reporting directly to innovation. The rest of the week is org shifts, demotions, laterals, and promotions.

New Oregonian Article

New Oregonian article, behind a paywall as usual: https://www.oregonlive.com/business/2024/04/lack-of-faith-in-hr-intimidation-vulgarity-inappropriate-touching-among-top-nike-complaints.html

Step up leadership

If somehow by a hail mary that someone on leadership reads this... Let's see some accountability please and specifics on what that actually IS. Would love to see maybe uhhh i dunno a pay cut from your several million dollar a year salary for messing... — read more

Is this smaller than we thought?

This is pure speculation, but it seems impact are smaller than we expected (still a lot though). Could this be the result of the big mess and employees response to leadership, including the all hands, that forced them to scale down? Is 1700 or 2%... — read more

No company is too big to not fail

We are reminded of too many case studies when companies who were part of everyday vernacular and culture disappeared. I fear nike is on this precipice. Is Nike tomorrow’s Kodak?

Surprising.

That the day one of cuts is pretty much over, and still no transparency of those not notified are safe. I guess we survived to live another day? Where is leadership to give us updated? I’m sorry for those that got the early AM invite, although I hear... — read more

Day One Recap? Big category movement..

Its 5pm EST - conversations should be about wrapped up for day one. Can informed individuals post some updates? This entire thread is a lot of random departments, disgruntled individuals with no real meat. I've never really seen or interacted with... — read more

Just has my meeting. And nothing changed

Just wanted to note I had my meeting today. Nothing changed. Letting you all know not all meeting today or tomorrow are layoffs. Now to work through this Nike work culture mess. Good luck!

Slack Updates

IT, we see you making changes to Slack to prevent sleuthing. Features keep disappearing mid-layoffs. Last round we could search for deactivated accounts and sort by most relevant, that has been removed. Last Slack update in the last hour has removed... — read more
