Topics regarding layoffs at VMware

What will happen to PSO ?

Anyone in BC care to comment on what may happen to vmw PSO? Do BC have a large FTE PSO team or is it all outsourced to HCL or other?

Nobody should worry about being laid off from VMware

What will you lose? A job where you're being overworked on daily bases while not being compensated properly for all the work you're doing. You'll also lose constantly eroding benefits and the pleasure of having your boss yell at you every day for... — read more

Regular Layoffs Now

Feels like we derailed, now it’s the Broadcom/VMware Buyout forum - and not that I care. Spec of regular layoffs, however, have been sat aside for anxiety of a future we can prepare for. What about now? Layoffs sweeping tech, Oracle bloodbath... — read more

VMware Explore low registration numbers

Are these numbers for real? Total registrants: ~4,700 Paid: ~3,000 Goal: ~8,000 Didn't VMworld used to get about 20,000+ registrations? These numbers seem way, way down.

Sanjay's new landing spot

Looks like Sanjay found a nice landing zone after a yr in the wilderness. Pre-IPO company previously valued at $2.5B. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/02/cohesity-hires-vmware-veteran-sanjay-poonen-as-ceo.html Great COO, probably got lucky being... — read more

What is going on in this BU? Last week it seems like HCL bought tanzu. There's been no communication regarding this.

A lot of Promotions

I've been at vmware for good amount of time and never seen this amount of promotions in a cycle. Is this to keep people happy before deal closes? Everything we do now is going to get second looks because it could be clues to what happens in coming... — read more

C'mon, get real

When I read some of these posts about how some have left the company or are already seriously looking for new offers, I get the impression that this was an ideal company that no one would have left if it wasn't for this acquisition. Was this... — read more

I'll stay as long as I can

I appreciate that some people want to leave before things get too bad to have some control over what's happening, but I'm not leaving any time soon. I like my job and if there is even a sliver of a chance that I'll continue doing it after the... — read more

Excellent subscription prices!!!

https://www.theregister.com/2022/07/29/vsphere_plus_prices_not_public/ I'm sure Vmware will get huge pump in revenues (snicker... yeah right)

Similar companies

Was wondering which companies out there are similar to pre-BC vmw in terms of culture, comp, tier in the industry.

Intel's worst quarter since 1999

And to think we though we could compete….

https://www.crn.com/news/cloud/aws-vs-microsoft-vs-google-cloud-earnings-face-off Remember when we spent billions on vCHS (the VHS of the cloud 😀), quite possibly one off the worst corporate decisions ever made by VMW mgmt. Embarrassing .

Subscription transition

Broadcom says they want to push for subscription transition for vmw products. Do you think they will change their opinion on this after the acquisition is done?

They should be ashamed to complain about quality

Sun Microsystems story parallels VMware

Why are people still joining VMware?

VSphere and VSan

What is everyone’s opinion on vsphere and vsan? Do you think they are worthy enough for Broadcom to keep them as they are without a big cut? Or do you think part of R&D of these two orgs will also get cut?

EU probes Broadcom’s past

Take it From a Former EMC Guy…
