Any organization that overlaps with Broadcom products and services will be cut. Any organization that doesn't bring revenue or value to the company will be cut. Any new products that VMWare has just introduced within a year or two, and there are no high revenue customers at the moment.
Remember, just because the guy next to you was the first to go, doesn't mean they are not going to cut you eventually. They will, after they overload you with work (making you work the weekends) and late evenings, make you think you are important cause you have delivery deadlines that are six months away, invite you to meeting that deal with your organizations future product/service (let's say a 3 year plan), etc. But remember, the future product/services do not require your (ex-vmware employees) involvement. It's really for the Broadcom employees. They make you think you are part of broadcom all the while they are planning to lay you off with the rest of the remain ex-vmware employees. At the end of the day, they want to make you work and work hard till the end, not only for you to do your job but also the people they already laid off. They want to transfer the work without getting it noticed as transfer of work.
I do not work for this company, but it had happened to my group since we were one of the last org's of 50 people to get layoff after working day and night and weekends (every weekend). They will ssck the life out of you.
My advice is write your resume, update your linkedin page, do some online training based on job posting that require certain skills. You still have company resources, so use it to your benefit. And if you get an offer externally with better pay (maybe more work which is going to happen anyway if you stay where you are currently), then take it. Good Luck!

“Ever wonder why there isn’t a CTO of Broadcom.” BINGO…. And they’ll never hire one. They barely have a CIO…. What company has marketing report into the CIO…OMFUG….LMFAO….clown show

Finance, HR, IT, Marketing will be dismantled quickly. It's normal in most acquisitions, not a Broadcom playbook thing. These organizations are the opposite of safe and their business processes are pretty standard in the industry (even if some colleagues in negation think otherwise).
Broadcom has excellent and cost efficient outsourcing partners, who already do all of these and will just extend them to VMW.
Broadcom don't like spending FTE headcount in commodity-type work and which is the right thing to do.

Parts of EUC will most likely be spun out and sold off to another company.

anyone else notice how a tons of promotions and lots of RSU's were issued? I'm guessing there is fear within BC - that people leaving the company so "try" to keep them?? nothing like acquiring a company and not much is left for employees.

Another question: if Broadcom sells most of the BU's and products, how would they maintain revenue and reach their proposed EBITDA?

Don’t worry, you are dealing with the world experts on reaching EBITDA goals and have quite the proven track record.

It makes me laugh to think that after a few months of hearing about these new goals, current execs think that it can only be reached by continuing to investing in R&D unproven products.

It like like the analogy of bringing a kn--e to a g-n fight.

Get ready for new levels of cost cutting that you would think are “unimaginable”. They are only unimaginable because you have been living in a bubble. This is cold hard business, if you can’t stand the heat, leave the kitchen.

Hock and Silver Lake know how to squeeze every penny out of a company’s most successful products and has absolutely no need to invest in space launches. That is for other types of investors, not private equity.

Ever wonder why there isn’t a CTO of Broadcom. Let that sink in for a bit.

My gut is telling me Broadcom already found a buyer for Carbon Black, who knows if the entire VMware Security portfolio is included, and probably they found buyers for other BUs as well, especially after the HCL news about their new VMware BU for the Multi-Cloud and Modern Apps

Who is a potential buyer of EUC? Intel?
I do not see any other big company.

All the execs are out. And for so many of them, that's really for the best. Raghu, Kit, Lohmeier, Ajay will be easily replaced by simply not being there anymore.
OCTO & Tanzu are immediately ki---d. Tanzu they might try to sell, but yeah, good luck with that. Nothing of any value there. Way behind the competition and thanks to all the Pivots there isn't anything someone else would be willing to buy.
vSphere will survive. CarbonBack maybe. NSX will be cut down to the bare minimum required for the vSphere business. EUC will be sold.

“People saying Airwatch is safe haven't noticed that the business is in the negative for WS1.........“

Can confirm that to be accurate! I was in EUC and WS1 sales traffic declined rapidly

Actually this is an area where Broadcom does a great job. No one is promoted because they are diverse. They are promoted because they are good at their jobs. Diversity won’t help or hurt you here and that is the way it should be.

How are diverse employees viewed at BC? Do they have a better chance of not being let go?

The Diversity Team is the safest. The important work they are doing will definitely continue with our kidnappers. Sorry, I know this response is petty and no offense to the people on this team, but…

EUC (not Airwatch part) is dead...

Nobody knows for certain. I hope EUC given the SaaS first. But does Broadcom want to own the enterprise or own just the infrastructure stack.

If I had to bet money
Core, vcf, vsan, nsx, velo, vrealize are safe.

Uncertainty
EUC (fits their security model)

Less likely
CB, MAPBU, Avi, draas.
