seeing a number of people get their promotion approved. everyone should fight for any promotion they rightfully deserve, before the transaction closes. broadcom doesn't care about the title of people at vmware, and they can't approve promotions anyway before the deal closes. plus, they're going to layoff 70% of vmware people anyway! so, get your promotion to the next level, and then look for another job. that's the least vmware execs can do to help our careers :)

Promotions were a head nod/gifts this cycle before BC comes in and chops. It was even mentioned in one of the clown halls.
Management should promote you if they want you to stay longer. If they didn't, they are ok with you leaving. Start looking outside. No point staying at a place where your efforts are not valued
It is really weird how many people were promoted today. I've never seen that many promotions at one go. Ever. At vmware, parsimony is the word for promotions, but not today. Weird. Almost like they are coaxing people to NOT look for other jobs.
