After how everything was handled during layoffs, I spent every available minute looking for something else. After they kept us in the dark and acted like we were disposable, I knew my time here was done. Now I can finally move on and I’m not going to be looking back.

Now I actually feel relieved. I’m not even all that scared about what’s next. There was so much pressure and focus on just keeping the job that I forgot how unhappy I really was at Target. I know the grass may not be greener, and finding another job won’t be easy, like it isn’t for anyone right now, but I still feel better for it. Sometimes change is necessary for your own clarity and sanity. In any case, wishing the best to everyone, both those who were let go and those who stayed.

I left earlier this year:
Mainly because I could no longer accept the toxic culture. It took me nearly 2 years to find the right job. It was hard.
But I found it.

Here is what I learned since joining a new company.
Yes, Ford treats everyone poorly.
Yes, other companies care about expertise.
Yes, you have to learn new things

But the grass is currently greener in other places and the environment is less toxic.

This is true from the entry worker to upper management.

If you are unhappy: jump. The water is not that cold.

Ansys was a great company to work for. I didn't get that same impression from Synopsys, but I guess that comes with working for a much larger company.

It was a good 5 years.

Just got laid off this morning out of the midland office. I felt so bad for the hr rep who called it was hard for her to tell me. But all is well holding my head up and ready for the next challenge. Got to comfortable at cop and was looking for something new anyway. Good luck to everyone else. Remember there is always something better for you.

and move to West Virginia to become a Coal Miner. All the Mines in West Virginia are hiring coal miners at all levels, entry-level, mid-level, and senior coal miners. There's plenty of over-time to be had if that is what you are looking for too.

I did this two years ago and never looked back after moving from Michigan to West Virginia. I work 50 hours Monday through Friday and spend the weekends outdoors either fishing, hunting, hiking and camping. I don't miss my old GM job at all.

The first time back in Feb of ‘22…the Thursday before Super Bowl weekend. A 15 min invite dropped in my calendar at 7:30 am that Thursday…invite was sent from the Director to meet at 9 am. Was given notice of my Rif and given 30 days to find a new role or leave. Thankfully I found a new role and stayed.

The second time in July of ‘24…had moved to a different role a yr prior at the invitation of a sly director. Same sly director who asked me to join his team the year prior laid me off a year later. “Business update” dropped in my calendar around 9 am for a fifteen minute meeting at 11 am same day. I knew what it was.

But, the second time came with VSP since our group wasn’t eligible to volunteer. So, the second layoff more than doubled the severance offer given on the first layoff.

Found a role to stay, but decided it was time to get of the VZ train. Glad to have found my exit with such a nice payout and was fully employed again within six weeks.

Good luck all. If your number is up, you WILL bounce back! For everyone else, keep riding the gravy train as long as you can, but always have a backup plan.

Happy to see one of my colleague who was pmts in visa in US, returned to his home as a D. It’s a hope that even you lose something to gain something better.

A year passed by after bitter memories of early morning email followed by a mechanical layoff meeting with the VP and HR. There was no appreciation what you have done. The interesting part was I was very active with multiple projects at that time!
It took few months to get back into working. Feeling good 😊

I got an offer letter yesterday and they just pushed the start date of all external hires to Jan 2026. WTF? Looks like a way to fudge their headcount numbers

I’ve been offered a job in India (not in engineering), but after reading reviews on here and on Glassdoor, I’m not getting a very optimistic impression overall and the hiring/interviewing experience was subpar. I also have another offer I’m weighing. Could anyone share firsthand insights on what it’s like working at the Hyderabad office — in terms of stability, culture, growth prospects, and leadership?

Additionally, I’ve been hearing that the engineering function has been transitioned to Global Logic. Is there any risk of similar changes for non-tech teams as well?

Appreciate any perspectives.
