What is this LR revealing about the company?

This LR just reinforces to everyone that delivering innovative technology and business solutions to customers is one of the lowest priorities within Cisco's senior leadership team. Having layoffs directed from several layers above the day-to-day... — read more

Subtle signs

This uncertainty is the worst. I'm very nervous. I don't feel at all secure about my job prospects. In this period of the year, it is not easy to get a new offer. I am preparing for the worst, although I would like to be able to somehow put my... — read more

Anyone Know Real Reason Chuck Won't Speak To Chambers?

Could it be due to Chuck's narcissistic traits including having a strong sense of self-importance, experiencing fantasies about fame or glory, exaggerating self abilities, craving admiration, exploiting others, and lacking empathy?

What frustrates me the most

What is really frustrating is that there are no clear and consistent criteria for who will be the LRd. When it comes to cuts, those who provide much more value to the company are in a subordinate position compared to those who are well connected... — read more

I don't buy it

Do you think that Cisco cares enough to put impacted people in open positions? I certainly don't.

Cisco Redundancy it’s not the role it’s personal

I’ve been through Cisco redundancy. It’s awful, once you start demonstrate the exec is choosing the person out of revenge and not the role, Cisco unleash accusations with no merit and lie like it’s going out of fashion. Cisco completely ignore their... — read more

Start by cutting these useless positions

Seriously how is CR keeping his job?

Look at CEO interviews for other tech companies. They are so much smarter and more knowledgeable and insightful about their businesses.

Radio Silence

How are there still no updates? This is beyond effed up. Don’t buy their lies - this is about cost cutting. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be across the board, and they’d have their plan already.

Level of anger

Never seen so much anger for a LR in my life. It's how it was handled. ER announcement before showing staff respect. The weeks of waiting, for everyone. The golf trip in the middle of it all. The impending recession and recognition that many... — read more

Are Managets of PMs going to be impacted?

I heard that during the Leader Check-in after the Earnings call, Maria specifically called out PM Leaders of other PMs as an example of who would be impacted. Anyone else hear that?

Market is not ideal, but...

Don't be discouraged by stories that the market is very bad. No it's not. In general, it is quite functional. I have three interviews next week. I had to put in a lot of effort, send a large number of applications, expand my network of contacts... — read more

Cisco culture

Just a post to see if those in Cisco think the culture in Cisco has improved or declined. There was a recent interview where someone senior in Cisco said moral was strong and never better. I’m a customer now but also an ex employee.

Arista - 13 top level posts on TheLayoff since 2016

Compare and contrast to the number of posts for Cisco in any given week. Also look at how many Cisco posts are the same because no one can read the previous hundred posts on the same topic. This reflects badly on the worker bees as well as... — read more

Pretending is exhausting

Is everyone pretending? I'll have had 3 one-on-ones with my manager by December 12th. They are unbelievably superficial and barely last the allotted time. The last one was 15 minutes of small talk. We have a town hall with a bunch of powerpoints... — read more

Despite everything, I still love my job here. Cisco has many issues, but good leadership could make many improvements. However, these leaders have lost their way. Sometimes I feel nostalgic. I remember how it used to be really nice to contribute... — read more

Slow projects

Things that once did not need speeding up are now moving at a snail's pace. Have you noticed how projects have become much slower than expected? The reason for this is not clear to me at all.
