The only reason to buy Avaya would be to buy customers. Way too much product overlap....plus Avaya has more problems than Cisco (financially, culturally, etc). I know alot of ex-Cisco deadwood that ended up at Avaya.

If we did buy avaya, it would be two competing products under the same umbrella. Not sure why we would do it. The end goal is cloud not two on prem collab solutions

Cisco bought Scientific Atlanta for $7 billions, sold it for $7 millions. That was stupidier than stupid.
Flip Video got flipped for $2 millions, Cisco paid $1.8 billions for it initially.

Aside from it’s a stupid idea! Avaya is carrying a lot of debt both financially and technically. They also have a massive pension fund they can’t afford…. It’ll be Su----e for Cisco to acquire…. So I guess they will then!
