It’s exhausting listening to these dolts all day. Even the execs. Get them a damn headset.

@2mnd+1kDK0Sft, yes, I do, because there's a lot more areas of technology than just phones.
I'm just talking, or mostly listening, to meetings. Human hearing, on average is between 20 Hz - 20 KHz in range. An analog telephone line is limited to 300 Hz to 3400 Hz. Webex, using the built-in computer audio, transmits much more than the analog phone range, so it sounds better than a real telephone.
Come back at me when you have real facts and not just "Wow, you work at a technology company."
@2erf+1kDK0Sft You clearly have awful hearing

No. I don't. Most of my team use onboard mic and speakers. You don't know what you're talking about. Webex is optimized for onboard hardware. Now, people who call in with mobile phones on speaker, yes they sound like cr-p.
I don't want to be in this meeting. I have work to do. I must make up the time spent in this useless meeting, probably by working longer than I want to into the evening. I'm not making myself uncomfortable for you by wearing a headset. You struggle to understand me when I speak over speakerphone? Good! Don't invite me to the next meeting.
@2cey+1kDK0Sft wow and you work at Cisco, a tech company
@1nzm+1kDK0Sft, I'll stop using the built-in computer audio when Cisco provides me with a Cisco IP phone to use at my home. We're not supposed to "dial-in" using land lines and/or mobile phones due to 800 # costs, and I'm not wearing a headset in the privacy of my home. One, they give me a headache before an hour's usage, and two, it's expensive to fix the laptop when it gets pulled off my desk when I lean back or get up to refill my coffee cup.
Besides, I know that the other person I'm talking to is doing the same thing and they sound perfectly fine to me. I'm going to go with the same answer any telephone service tech is going to say, the issue's on your end, not mine. :-)

Latest onboard mics and speakers on PCs and Mac are very good. I don't use a phone any more.
Real question becomes now. Do they care?
