2025 Layoffs confirmed (CES, STS)

Had an all hands meeting with Rama this afternoon. Confirmed that a re-org is coming that there will be layoffs soon. Did not give much more information than that.

Any updates on if they are closing, reopening, or opening up new locations? Not including branch.

The spin

Let’s see how they spin the low glint survey results this time. Katie probably won’t give her positive spiel during the update now she has been shown the door

Is Schwab going to reduce severance?

I've heard several people mention the possibility of severance being reduced for future rounds and I'm wondering, is this something that's likely to happen? I believe that current terms are fair for all involved, so I don't see why anybody would want... — read more

Low pay

I just found out that after 10 years with the firm, and being the highest performer on my team, I’m at the lowest end of the salary. Most of my teammates are making more than me. I’ve received many accolades over the years, with exceeds ratings. Not... — read more

The old guard

New CHRO. This will be the person making all the “hard” HR decisions but of course with Rick asking for it. Are there any old guards left?

Rick talked about RTO and WFH

They have a well thoughtout hybrid program, the 3-2 program. They like it. They want us to commit to this so we all come into a vibrant and fun office experience. We will think about our program in mid January, and convert us to to a RTO fiver... — read more

Time to layoff directors

Directors seem to be the layer we are having the issue with us relaying constructive criticism to the EC. They are the ones retaliating

Too many managers who do nothing useful

Why do we keep managers who don’t lead or offer anything of value? It’s frustrating to see how many so-called managers only check on people without contributing anything meaningful themselves. Imagine how much smoother things would run if we cut... — read more

I Love it at Schwab!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. First year as a contractor, going on year four as an FTE - Grade 58 in STS.

RTO and Badge Reports

I'm hearing reports from different teams that HR is actively running badge swipe details and specifically calling out non-compliance related to RTO. Anyone else hear about this happening with your team? It's unbelievable to me that random employees... — read more

Reading Between The Lines

Rick has said, in at least 2 Town Halls I attended, that there are "no plans" to change the RTO policy in 2025. He was egged on by Walt in the initial TX townhall in relation to an Amazon RTO question on if we were following suit. I am not sure I... — read more

RTO concern

There are ppl here saying schwab won't push RTO-5 in January. It's unlikely due to notice needed. But my understanding is that they are working diligently to firm up desks and assignments. Is that going to expedite that plan if RTO-5 is required in... — read more

H-1B

Serious question. I know some people will not like to hear this but it must be said. Why do we still need H-1B employees in the US? I agree at one point the US did need people in tech who know how to code. US citizens have since caught up with the... — read more
