Was FTO introduced to save money with cash encashment of allocated or unused PTO as they anticipated more layoff in future? We cannot encash FTO?

Chief Procurement Officer

One minute she was on LinkedIn offering solace to the laid off, next minute she was deactivated on slack and is now, I assume, laid off herself. Blindsided and reporting directly to the CFO?

Productivity

What’s the un calculated cost to productivity of dragging out this process? The amount of time, energy, stress, anxiety, fear, panic diverted from working is staggering. It’s all everyone is thinking and talking about. No one is thinking “hey how can... — read more

If I find a new job sooner than the two-month extended period on the payroll, can I exist early and still retain the severance package?

Regions impacted?

Anyone aware of regions that are impacted till now, At least in my org it seems like it’s restricted to one geo only.

ES

Suddenly all those friends and family passes they couldn’t stop shelling out make even more sense. Had you handing them out to get people to shop just before they did layoffs. Had to get their last couple of bucks of whoever they could.

Nepotism

the ugly word no one likes to say out loud at Nike, lol. Worked at a few corporate HQ’s and have yet to encounter the amount of couples and various familial ties I’ve seen here. And that’s just the FTE’s. Even more out of control for ETWs where... — read more

Product at Company store - no wonder

Went to the company store to try to cheer myself up and get something. What is AP doing. Nothing fits. It’s like they had one muse from NYC. 10+ colors of AJ1 and AF1. No wonder we are being called out for lack of innovation. Sorry to lose so many... — read more

It was a bloodbath for my old group today!

I'm recently retired (used to work in what was called "nike.net"), but I found out that most of my old managers were let go, some really good people including some of the best managers I've ever had. Today was management's turn, the rumor from the... — read more

Human beings who actually create value can be damned

Nike has been suffering from the corporate illness that became pervasive over the past 15-20 years. Companies became just a money extraction service for those on top and in the name of shareholders, and they exist until there is nothing left... — read more

How large is GT, and who is the top leader in GT?

I have been seeing messages that GT is impacted, but my org is safe. I am wondering who owns GT at a leadership level. Just to learn if it even matters if GT is cutting jobs. Initially i was afraid that it has come to GT, but now it feels like GT is... — read more

When was the last graceful exit?

Nike used to care about the employees and celebrate teammates as they left. With JD it’s like being arrested and sent to jail. No emotion, no thank you, just cut the access and send us your computer. PK would cry when he had to lay people off... — read more

Some thoughts about the state of the work

From a comment I posted in another thread: Obviously none of us have a crystal ball, but I personally don’t think an “acceptable” normal will be achieved for a while. (Completely my opinion) But as a company that focuses so much energy on the... — read more

Current state of things

It dawned on me this week that I had one manager from 2014-2020; with changes to my current org structure this week, I will now be on my 7th manager in the last 4 years. This is a sign of a company with absolutely zero clue that has completely lost... — read more
