Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Did anybody else notice that they avoided saying JD's name in the start of today's email

"As mentioned in a global note to employees" I assume they're talking about JD's note? Don't they normally just say that? But now they don't want to say his name. They must really want to hide him. Or this is just part of a transition..

And why is the first ever "Senior Leadership Team" email sent as part of phase 2, not even phase 1, of these layoffs? That's a new one. Now introducing: the Senior Leadership Team. What strategic choice is that? I wonder what the meetings are like to decide these things, because it all looks kind of insane.

This email was written by chat gpt. I see no other explanation. It's the wrong call signing as a group. Yet another way of coming across out of touch and impersonal. Man up, JD. Own your communications, even when stuff goes wrong. Don't hide. Be human.

I think it’s b/c they’re aware how the majority of the rank and file seem to feel about him Trying to shore up support for him with a group email so it doesn’t look like he’s the sole bad guy.

This was a highly scrutinized and carefully written email in terms of liabilities and legalities which makes it come off as very tone deaf. AI was likely used to help the consulting group write the email. That’s just how these sorts of emails happen. It’s purely a notification that the layoff period has begun.

SLT is soulless and out of touch. Feels like they had a chat bot write that
