[..] Nvidia is doing fairly well. It has grown by 225%, from $678.42B in April 2020 to $2.20T as of April 2024, and is now one of the three most valuable companies in the world.
And, it has done so fully remotely.

Yes, the Innovation teams were the first back on campus, and many worked through the entire time from campus. It wasn’t 100%, but their presence on campus was far higher than any other product function. Innovation made PPE for first responders and frontline workers, and they were in-person long before the rest of campus was back.
Funny how he first blames himself for poor performance then blames remote workers. Also, wasn’t much of innovation on campus throughout the pandemic?
That comment throwing the innovation team under the bus was bad form. To OP’s point, the most innovative company in the world still supports remote work. The wheels really started to come off when employees were required to RTO 3, then 4 days a week. WFH Fridays is not a “hybrid” model. I had hoped Nike LT would be an industry leader in hybrid and remote work models to show trust and support for their employees who stepped up during the pandemic, but remote work is apparently the scapegoat for bad strategy decisions, lacking visibility n, and a disconnected leader who doesn’t even rep the brand by wearing Nike in interviews (until recently after being called out for it).
So disappointing to feel like Nike is playing defense now instead of “being on the offense, always”
