Illumina 2025: What now? What next?

Given everything that has happened this year so far, what are you doing in response? Look for a new job, go back to business as usual and hope for the best, or something else?

Can we clarify what's about the Feb 2025 WARN notice?

There's a lot of fuss about this WARN notice from February 2025. Can anyone explain if this is for programmed, future layoffs or if the 14th April, 16th May and 15th August are when the February redundancies will take effect and positions will be... — read more

EU head is the ELT henchman

So this dude orchestrated the departure of Gretchen and Nikki, he gets put in to cover Asia and now lots of the team are getting fired. When will he leave. I can’t wait to see how Europe does in H1 and then he and maybe his team get it?

How was the Jacob posted deleted?

Last night an insider posted that the board is voting 5/7 for Jacob to resign by Q3. With a Thermo exec transitioning to the role in June. Where did the post go? Is Illumina able to remove these posts? I don't see options to delete them.

Severance question

I heard the rules are not the same for everybody. Is that true? I know it depends on time with the company, but some people are saying different roles and levels are getting different payouts. Is that actually happening?

How long will this go on?

People say it’s happening department by department, which could take a while. As if we’re not already on edge. Good luck, and try not to jump out of your skin.

Sad reality

We’ve got a kid who just joined this year and he’s not even worried about layoffs. He knows he’s probably safe. Meanwhile, I’ve been here over 15 years, and my blood pressure’s through the roof because I know my longevity puts a target on my back... — read more

It starts in earnest tomorrow, then?

Best of luck to everyone. Please share any information you're comfortable disclosing. Details about which departments or groups are affected would probably be the most helpful place to start.

Is it tomorrow or was it today?

I have not heard about anyone being let go, but some people say it happened, so I am grasping at straws here. Is there any chance layoffs already happened and it is over?

I hope everybody's ready

Commercial layoffs are happening tomorrow, marketing, commercial operations and strategic growth This will not be pretty.

Starting a Union

I want to start a Union and am reading up on the National Labor Relations Board. Our employer cannot retaliate against us. We would need 30% of employees to sign a petition. If we have 9,000 employees, about 2,700 employees would need to sign the... — read more

The bathroom mints were the canary in the coal mine

Around 2018, I distinctly remember the petty comments on Workplace about the removal of MINTS from the bathrooms on campus. Little did I know, this was the beginning of the end for Illumina. Those precious little red and white mints were our canary... — read more

Same person who said last year that stock could reach 80 in 2024 indicated 50 is a possibility. IDK when we are going to get a break from this sh-tshow.
