The posts on LinkedIn from those who were laid off, the posts on here, the news articles over the last few months and years, the stock price. All of this just makes me sad, I miss the pre-Francis Illumina. It truly was a special place to work!

Do you know how much Francis makes at Google: base salary of $140 million...He also created his own AI company 3 years ago so what would be funny? that he buys us! He got so much money and doesn't know what to do with it.
It's also pretty sad to see that Francis got a job as chief operating officer at google cloud. Doesn't seem like he deserved that job.

Yep. There was bound to be a leveling off at some point. But the gross erosion of this company has been very sad to see. I had more access to Francis and his band of merry mo--ns than most employees, and I saw the collapse coming, so I left on my own terms. Many others with similar access also left before the floor fell out. The contrast from Jay’s Illumina to Francis’ and everything since then couldn’t possibly be more stark.
