I got my package in the last round of LR and found a job within a month with a Cisco competitor. Almost a year later I gotta say the LR was the best thing that happened to me at Cisco. Get out of the sinking boat while you can!
Conrad Clemson's Strategy Video and AMA
Let's discuss the video he sent out and the kinds of questions you want to ask of him. I'll point him to this thread for the unfiltered version.
I feel like I've been offered a golden lifeboat
I got LR'd today from SP test. I'm pushing 50 but not there yet. I'm not sure of the scale yet. I've been with cisco for a long time and I've worked from home for the last several years which I consider a huge blessing. I don't know if it was my age... — read more
Spark's biggest problem is a lack of vision and leadership
Spark's biggest problem is a lack of vision and leadership. No one person or group will take responsibility for decisions and direction, inevitably leading to management by a number of essentially focus groups. Do you know how hard it is to develop a... — read more

LRs are never fun for anyone. I cant fathom anyone enjoying this. I feel for all impacted. BUT it is a reality of large companies today. While I do feel the constant specter of worry about stability, I got over that for the most part 4 years out of... — read more
One offs across SP Biz Unit it sounds like

LR Targets for FY 2017 to be announced in August 2017
Chuck will announce new LR target in August 2017 for FY 2018. I guess most likely it will be 5% to 7% as usual.
Patterns
Got LRed at 56. When they walked us out the door I turned around and it looked like the demographics of people leaving the men's room at a Garth Brooks concert. Grey hair, male pattern baldness and distinctly white.
1000+ LR-ed
We saw over 1000 people laid off at our location over the years. The big ones have come this time of year and after the FY. Buttt Cisco will lay off any time of the year in small unannounced layoffs. They have made that very clear over the years. You... — read more

October Rumor
Heard something big is going to happen in Oct on the collab side.
50 + at Cisco? Beware.
If you are over 50 at Cisco, you are the ones most likely to get laid off. They lay off mostly the 50+ that drain the health insurance, then sprinkle a few millennials so it doesn't look like ageism. The only consolation after 12- years of working... — read more
Perspectives from a LR'd guy...
To any Cisco-ite who is facing the dreaded 1:1...I was LR'd/RIF'd/WFR'd last August, and while I wrestled with a strange range of emotions -- anger, betrayal, relief, elation -- I will say that in hindsight it was the best thing to happen to me... — read more

Do you think they'll double up this year with a Q3 and Q4 LR - as in large action? Smaller LRs have been happening all year. Wondering what the final number could be between the two quarters?
