TAC is also a great place to learn technologies for future growth either inside or out.

Shouldn't TAC be outsourced? Serious question.

TAC future is good. without TAC/AS/FTS, Cisco would have closed the shop long time ago.

This support teams are generating recurring revenue through service contracts and most cases supporting those Customers where there is no BU left for some product lines. in TAC, you can always jump between technologies and its depends on your urge to learn new things.

With HTTS support model, they are aggressively pursuing premium support. They are anticipating services to grow in coming years. TAC/FTS has good future but again its depends on which product you are supporting.

BU/Sales/Admin jobs will always be risky. TAC has to support installed based long after BU and sales are kicked off.

You should ask your manager first then ask the people who call in to open a ticket. Ask, ask and ask.
